Update from the City of Calgary
Construction & Detour Updates:
Reconstruction work at the intersection of Brisebois Drive and John Laurie Boulevard N.W. is progressing. The existing traffic detour on the south side of the intersection is expected to be in place until approximately Friday, August 13 to accommodate additional work in the area.
A temporary closure of the Many Owls Valley Parking Lot at Nose Hill Park has also been scheduled from the morning of Thursday, July 29 until the evening of Friday, July 30.
Signage to inform the public of the parking lot closure will be installed on Monday, July 26 and an update will be sent to the area Community Associations. Alternate parking lot options for Nose Hill Park users have been posted on the project webpage.
John Laurie Boulevard and Shaganappi Trail N.W. Intersection Paving
To accommodate milling and paving at the John Laurie Boulevard and Shaganappi Trail N.W. intersection, alternating, overnight lane closures will be taking place from Monday, July 26 until Thursday, August 5, with work scheduled to be complete by 6 a.m. Friday, August 6.
To minimize traffic disruptions, closures will be in effect between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, with full access to all traffic lanes restored outside of these hours. During the closures, all directions of travel and turning movements will be maintained.
John Laurie Boulevard and Brenner Drive N.W. Intersection Paving
From Friday, August 6 until Monday, August 9, alternating, overnight lane closures will be taking place at the intersection of John Laurie Boulevard and Brenner Drive N.W. to accommodate paving.
To minimize traffic disruptions, closures will be in effect between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, with full access to all traffic lanes restored outside of closure hours. This work is scheduled to be complete by 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 10.
All directions of travel and turning movements along John Laurie Boulevard N.W. will be maintained.
Variable Message Boards and flaggers will be on-site to help direct traffic and pedestrians throughout all upcoming closures. The Calgary Police Service will also be on-site as required to assist with traffic at the John Laurie Boulevard and Shaganappi Trail N.W. lane closures.
The project team will work hard to minimize the impacts to commuters and travellers in the area as much as possible, however delays are expected. We are asking the public to please follow all posted signage in the construction area, including speed reductions.
