Update from the City of Calgary
Construction & Detour Updates:
To accommodate paving as part of the John Laurie Boulevard N.W. Restoration and Reconstruction project, alternating lane closures on eastbound and westbound John Laurie Boulevard N.W. near Brisebois Drive N.W. will be taking place from Friday, October 15 until Sunday, October 17.
A full closure at the centre of the intersection of John Laurie Boulevard and Brisebois Drive N.W. will be taking place for the full day on Sunday, October 17. Eastbound and westbound traffic on John Laurie Boulevard will be maintained, however crossing John Laurie Boulevard will be prohibited on Sunday to accommodate median and intersection work.
Detour routes will be in place via Shaganappi Trail, Charleswood Drive and Brenner Drive N.W. Access to Many Owls Valley parking lot will be available via westbound John Laurie Boulevard N.W., though the entrance may be closed for a short time to accommodate paving. Alternate parking lot options for Nose Hill Park users have been posted on the project webpage.
Detour signage and Variable Message Boards will be on-site to help direct traffic and updates will be shared via the project webpage and email newsletter.
The project team will work hard to minimize the impacts to commuters and travellers in the area as much as possible, however delays are expected and the public is reminded to follow all posted signage in the construction area, including speed reductions.
Following the final paving work happening this weekend, the project will be substantially complete, with minor work remaining over the next two weeks, including landscaping, electrical, cable barriers and site cleanup. Thank you for your patience during the construction period.
