Art Walk Celebration and Food Drive

The Brentwood Cares Art Walk Celebration and Food Drive would have been impossible without the contribution of so many. At the walk we provided recognition to the many supporters of both the Brentwood Walkway Mural Project and the Art Walk with 24×36 posters at the welcome desk, volunteer packages and to Brentwood Cares members. All event posters are here, including a wonderful poster of all the murals.

We were so lucky with the weather and a Calgary Foundation grant that supported 3 large road signs, large event posters and live music (using the City of Calgary “free” sound system). We had four female Brentwood residents who provided wonderful music. The Nosehill Library and the city provided fun for kids. Thank you to our many amazing volunteers. Telus helped with providing mural artist signs and high quality prints for the booths. The estimated attendance was 650 people. Many walked and biked to the event.

Snapshot Community Needs Analysis
We had both a paper and electronic snapshot Community Needs Analysis at the Art Walk to help us shape a more complete version of Brentwood Cares and guide future projects. Thanks to Prairie Mill Bread Co and the British Pantry who provided prizes for those completing a survey.
Food Trucks – Always Popular in Calgary
Food Drive
We had a wonderful response with people donating food and money towards helping fill the pantry for our Little Food Library.
Art Walk Passports
Were a great success with all the prizes handed out, a number completed but declining a prize. We even had to print additional passports mid-afternoon.
