Alberta Bike Swap, Calgary Police Service Partner to Host Free Bike Index Registration Event in East Village
Calgary, AB – July 28 – Alberta Bike Swap, in partnership with the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and East Village, are pleased to announce a dedicated Bike Index registration event aimed at enhancing community safety and combating bicycle theft in Calgary.
This public asset protection initiative will take place on Sunday, August 2nd, at the RiverWalk Plaza in East Village, running from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Bicycle theft remains a significant challenge within urban centers, representing a deterrent to active transit adoption and resulting in substantial asset loss for citizens. Effective law enforcement recovery efforts require verifiable proof of ownership—specifically, a recorded serial number tied to a verified owner. Registering on Bike Index creates a searchable, global record that CPS officers utilize daily to identify and return stolen property.

Attendee Checklist: To facilitate a seamless registration process, attendees are advised to bring the following:

Attendees will receive complimentary Bike Index QR stickers or decals on-site, which serve as an additional visual theft deterrent and assist in recovery. All of this service is at no cost.
